Njord

One of the principal gods of the Vanir, Njord is associated with the sea, wealth and fertility. Father to Freyr and Freya, Njord features most predominantly in the tale - The Marriage of Njord and Skadi. As part of a settlement due to the death of her father, Skadi demanded a husband from one of the gods. The giantess was only allowed to choose her husband by selecting him by his feet, Skadi choose the fairest pair of feet she could see. Thinking her choose feet her Baldur's, she had in fact choose Njords.
